Can you believe Obama "promised" that irresponsible budgets were a thing of the past?

Unfortunately he's not the first politician that started breaking campaign promises soon after being elected, nor will he be the last. Alas, not many are surprised by this, probably even expected it. Have we become so jaded by the broken promises of the past that we're numb to the broken promises of the present?
