An alternative to the speed of light in space travel?

In string theory there are many more dimensions beyond the four that most people are familiar with. I'm convinced that the secret to interstellar travel lies in these extra dimensions. If you could somehow leave our dimensional plane, it might be possible to re-enter it at another location, many lightyears away.
