When a girl say just give me time?

I've been datin this girl for a month and half now then suddenly we stop going out for two weeks so i ask her "i want to know is if everything is ok, because i know that u have been busy in all but i feel like we haven't been spending alot of time together recently" so then i get a response back from her "i'm sorry, i just needed to back off, i'm not ready to get into something serious right now i thought maybe i was but i'm not! I shouldve talked to u i just didn't know what to say! just give me time" i really like the girl i do wanna give her the time but it is hard not to talk to her. i also responded back i unterstand but i hope we don't stop talking to each other....then she responded back "no definatly...friends?! :) what can i do?
