Suggestions needed on exploring Skyline Dr & Blue Ridge Parkway?

I'll 2-4 days to explore, starting from Shenandoah Nat’l Pk (Skyline Dr) heading south to Blue Ridge. Wondering, what will good places to see, stay, how far should we plan on going so we wont rush or do it too slow?
