Snake dream question?

last night i dreamed there was a snake in my parents backyard..i live next door. i dreamed it was calico in color (it reminded me of a cat i had when i was a child). i was scared. it seemed very threatening. two of my sisters were back there with me and i kept yelling at them to get back. I then grabbed a shovel and cut it in half. it was kind of gruesome and i wasn't sure if it was going to die, but i think it did...i then woke up...will you please help with the interpretation?
